Our History

Beach Memorial Church was founded in 1881. Rev. and Mrs. R.M. Beach formerly of the Wisconsin Annual Conference, held down a homestead and tree claim three miles southwest of Howard. When they decided to move to California. Rev. Beach left the tree claim under the care of a friend  Mr. S.H. Bronson. When a certain amount of money had been raised by the church, the tree claim was to be given to the church with money from the sale going toward a new church building. At the service dedicating the church it was voted that the church be called “The Beach Memorial Church” since Rev. Beach and his wife were instrumental in helping with the finances.

Today the church is called Beach United Methodist Church and we are proud to continue the work of being Jesus’ hands and feet in a world that needs to be shown love and kindness.
